Sound insulation of a party wall or ceiling
For soundproofing a partition wall or ceiling we recommend our acoustic sheets soni PROTECT R or soni COMPOSITE.
Installed as an absorber in the hollow space behind a facing panel, soni PROTECT R considerably reduces the resonance phenomenon, thus increasing the sound insulation effect of a party wall / partition wall.
Glued to the wall soni COMPOSITE reduces enormously the noise level. soni COMPOSITE is a perfect combination of a synthetic heavy foil (3kg/m²) consisting of a blend of synthetic materials with an admixture of special flame-retardant minerals, and a robust polyurethane-ether foam laminated with a non-woven. The heavy foil increases the mass (doubling the mass = increasing the sound insulation). The polyurethane-ether foam generates a sound absorbing effect.
Sound insulation of doors
To insulate or soundproof a door we recommend the application of our heavy foil soni EVA on the door leaf. Doubling the mass of the sound attenuation material reduces the sound pressure level by 6dB. (A reduction by 10dB cuts the subjectively perceived noise level by half.)
Even more effective is the application of our soni COMPOSITE acoustic foam, a robust PUR ether foam that is laminated with a non-woven PES and a synthetic heavy foil (3kg/m²). The heavy foil increases the mass (doubling the mass –> improved sound insulation). The acoustic foam functions as a "sound dampening layer" that has to be applied on the side facing the noise source.
For optimum effectiveness, the recommended heavy foils and our soni COMPOSITE acoustic foam have to be glued on the door leaf but they need an additional mechanical fixation.
Before using any sound insulation or sound proofing material, please make sure that the doors are closing absolutely tight. Even the smallest gaps (e.g. keyholes or gap between door and floor) interfere enormously the noise insulation.

Roller shutter casings
To insulate or soundproof a roller shutter casing we recommend to line the interior of the casing with our bitumen heavy foil soni HEAVY or soni HEAVY ALU. Doubling the mass reduces the sound pressure level by 6 dB. (A reduction by 6 - 10 dB cuts the subjectively perceived noise level by half.)
Even more effective is the application of our soni COMPOSITE an acoustic foam, laminated with a non-woven PES, and combined with a synthetic heavy foil (3kg/m²). The heavy foil increases the mass (doubling the mass –> improved sound insulation). The acoustic foam applied inside the roller shutter casing functions as a "sound dampening layer", i.e. noises are absorbed by the acoustic foam.
