Reducing noise levels and reverberation time in hallways, staircases and living spaces
The noise level in living rooms or dining areas can be reduced decisively by installing our sound absorber products on the ceiling. We offer a range of high-quality products that meet a wide variety of design and stability requirements. In general, covering only part of the ceiling (corresponding to ca. 30 to 50% of the room’s floor surface) is sufficient, depending on room height and initial noise level. This measure substantially reduces the reverberation time and hence the noise level, resulting in much better speech intelligibility and a more comfortable atmosphere.
soni PROTECT is made from an open-cell melamine foam with uncommonly high sound absorption values. The material is rated as flame retardant: It meets the B1 requirements acc. to DIN 4102. When the panels are to be installed edge to edge, we recommend the use of soni PROTECT F. The beveled edges of our soni PROTECT F panels make for very neat joints and an attractive surface design while even helping conceal uneven patches in the ceiling surface. Our soni TRAPEZ and soni PYRAMIDE products are made from the same material.
Since melamine foam shows a certain sensitivity to impact and soiling, it should be installed on the ceiling or in the upper zone of the wall where it will not be touched.
soni COMFORT (F) scores not only with unusually high sound absorption values, but also with excellent shape stability and robustness. soni COMFORT (F) is made from a white PES non-woven and rated “flame retardant”: It meets B1 requirements acc. to DIN 4102.
