The soni COMPOSITE sound insulation mat from soniflex is a highly effective combination of sound insulation and sound absorption. This acoustic product consists of a heavy plastic film (soni EVA) and high-quality acoustic foam with a decorative felt surface. This intelligent combination of materials reduces both airborne and structure-borne noise, resulting in a noticeable reduction in noise levels – ideal for use in living spaces, offices, workshops or technical facilities.


Double effect – sound absorption & sound insulation

While the soni EVA heavy-duty film reliably reduces sound penetration, the open-pored acoustic foam layer absorbs the sound within the room. This dampens the noise at its source and prevents it from spreading – a real advantage over single-layer materials.

Thanks to its decorative felt surface, soni COMPOSITE is available in a range of colours – ideal when function and design are equally important.


Easy processing & secure installation

Processing soni COMPOSITE is straightforward and does not require any special tools:

✔ The mat can be cut to size precisely using a craft knife or scissors.
✔ The self-adhesive backing serves as an installation aid – however, mechanical fastening (e.g. screws, press studs or strips) is recommended for permanent attachment,     especially on vertical surfaces or for ceiling installation.
✔ Ensure that the substrate is dry, dust-free and smooth to ensure optimum adhesion.

If necessary, you can cut soni COMPOSITE to the desired size with a craft knife. The self-adhesive backing serves as an installation aid.

Tip:
To create a clean finish at the joints, you can cover them with a wooden strip (8–10 cm wide) – this ensures a neat appearance and provides additional support.

What is the difference between sound insulation and sound absorption?

Sound insulation prevents sound from travelling from one room to another – this is the effect achieved by soni EVA heavy-duty film. Sound absorption reduces reverberation in the room – this function is performed by acoustic foam. soni COMPOSITE combines both in one product, offering maximum noise reduction.


Can I attach soni COMPOSITE to the wall separating me from my neighbour?

Yes, soni COMPOSITE is ideal for this purpose. Installed behind a facing shell or directly on the wall, it effectively reduces noise transmission and reverberation.


How do I attach soni COMPOSITE correctly?

The self-adhesive backing serves as an installation aid – for permanent attachment, the panels should be fixed mechanically (e.g. with screws or strips). Ensure that the surface is smooth, dry and free of grease.


Can I cut soni COMPOSITE to size myself?

Yes, the panels can be easily cut to size with a craft knife. This allows you to adapt them perfectly to your wall or ceiling surface.

Our soni SB 700 sound-insulation panel is a two-layer product consisting of a highly sound-absorbing, hydrophobic polyester non-woven and a synthetic heavy layer (soni EVA 6-01). This newly developed combination has both sound-absorbing and sound-insulating capacity with especially high effectiveness in the frequency range of compressors. This makes it the optimum solution for substantially reducing the noise pollution caused by the compressors typically used in heat pumps or air-conditioning systems. In a few simple steps you can build a DIY compressor jacket from our soni SB 700 noise control panels. All you need to do is to measure the compressor’s dimensions and cut corresponding parts from the soni SB 700 acoustic panel with a carpet knife.
