Technical sound insulation

In the technical context and in industrial production, noise control has long since been a focus topic. Ideally, effective noise protection measures are an integral part of the development process, for example in vehicle construction, mechanical engineering and the design of production lines. There is a rising demand for machines and devices that score with silent operation. However, effective technical noise control measures can generally also be added at a later date, in particular using sound insulation mats or noise control panels with both sound-insulation and sound-attenuation effects.

Based on our many years of experience, we can recommend the right product and the optimum solution for virtually any application. There is a whole range of measures that can be taken to significantly reduce noise in production halls, workshops, utility rooms and other premises. For optimum sound insulation, there are different options and specific recommendations for different room types.

soni 491 STL
Our soni 491/STL noise-control panel is a highly effective sound-insulation product based on PUR foam, equipped with a micro-perforated surface film and additionally with a heavy layer. This clever combination of two different acoustic materials ensures both sound-insulating and sound-absorbing properties in one product. soni 491 STL is suitable, for example, for boosting the sound insulation effectivity of a wall, partition wall or ceiling. Advice on building a curtain wall: For a curtain wall, dowel wooden laths of 30 or 50 mm thickness to the wall. Ideally, an elastic layer is placed between the wall and the laths to prevent sound bridges. Our soni NBR sealing tape is the ideal solution for such an elastic mounting. Then insert our sound-absorber product soni 491 STL in the empty spaces between the laths and cover them with plaster boards or particle boards screwed to the laths. For even more effective sound absorption, soni 491 STL can be mounted on the wooden laths (30 mm) instead of being applied directly on the wall. The resulting air gap acts as an extra sound insulation. To optimize the curtain wall you can "decouple" the plaster board / particle board from the floor and ceiling as well as the adjacent walls by filling the edge joints with acrylic. For an example of a curtain wall construction for noise insulation purposes, please see the testimonial "Neighbors / Curtain Walling”.  If you do not have the tools and/or the time to cover the sound-insulation panels with plasterboard or chipboard, we recommend our soni COMPOSITE as an alternative sound-insulation material. In contrast to soni 491 STL, soni COMPOSITE scores with a stylish decorative felt surface that is available in different colors and excellent for visible sound-conditioning materials.

Noise protection in production halls

Production halls usually accommodate a large number of machines and devices that emit a lot of noise, which constitutes a high stress factor for employees. A significant reduction of the noise level can be achieved with the help of our special acoustic products, such as soniflex soundproofing panels.

By building a noise-control enclosure around machinery areas and equipping the ceilings with high-quality and efficient sound-absorbing products from our range, you can significantly reduce the reverberation time and minimize the reflection of sound waves.

Noise control for machines

Compressors, production machinery and other equipment often cause excessive noise levels that become almost unbearable for employees. You can reduce these noise emissions by insulating machinery enclosures with our noise-control products.

In outdoor areas, machinery, technical systems or pumps can be “silenced” with
soni RESIST, for instance. For loud compressors we recommend our soni SB 700 compressor jacket..

There is a wide choice of noise-control solutions available, but for optimum sound insulation, the recommended option is to build special soundproofing enclosures that separate it from the rest of the room and shield off the noise source directly.

Technical noise control from soniflex

Especially in the technological context there are numerous sound sources and noise emitters that make it very unpleasant for people to stay in the vicinity. High sound volumes that – due to strong reverberation – cause a distracting or even upsetting noise level can quickly lead to physical and psychological problems.

We offer you numerous options for achieving sustainable noise reduction through targeted measures and customizable solutions. The soundproofing products from our range not only deliver on their promise in terms of noise reduction, but are also easy to install.
