How does a wall absorber work?

Poor room acoustics can have a variety of causes, with extensive sound reverberation being the most common. This happens when the sound waves are reflected back and forth by "sound-hard" walls, ceilings or other surfaces, resulting in an echoing sensation within the room.

However, if sound waves hit a soniflex wall absorber instead of a hard surface, they penetrate into the acoustic material and are completely or at least partially absorbed. As a result, friction inside the material extracts energy from the sound waves, converting it into heat energy. Sound-absorbing materials reduce the reverberation time. The wall absorber "swallows" the sound waves so that they are no longer reflected. This lowers the sound level, i.e. the noise, and improves speech intelligibility: The noise level is efficiently and sustainably reduced.

The properties of wall absorbers from soniflex

The wall absorbers from soniflex have been specially produced for effective sound absorption and allow you to significantly improve the acoustics in your room. The absorber elements consist of a white polyester non-woven, which can be optionally laminated with different decorative felt surfaces. They are perfect for sound-conditioning almost all types of rooms.

Good to know: To achieve a clear improvement in the acoustic conditions in the room, we recommend covering approx. 30 to 50 percent of the ceiling or wall surfaces with our sound absorbers. Our soni SPECIAL ADHESIVE is an ideal adhesive for spot and full-surface fixation of sound-insulation materials and acoustic elements made of open-cell foam, especially melamine and PUR foams. The solvent-free, stable soni SPECIAL ADHESIVE provides excellent adherence to typical building materials, such as concrete, plaster, masonry, cement and wood. With the elastoplastic, single-component polymer adhesive, our open-cell foam panels can be glued directly to the wall or ceiling. Our soni SPECIAL ADHESIVE is available in 310-ml-cartridges, in sets of 6 or 12 cartridges. Please note: soni SPECIAL ADHESIVE is not suitable for PE foams such as soni RESIST. Keep out of reach of children!

Thanks to its strong adhesive strength and simple application, it enables reliable fastening to various surfaces. Flash-off time Allow the adhesive to flash off for 3-5 minutes. The adhesive should feel tacky but no longer be wet. Bonding Press the two surfaces firmly together. Ensure that they are correctly aligned, as the contact adhesive will adhere immediately. Apply even pressure to ensure good adhesion. If necessary, you can use a roller or similar tool. Note: One spray can is sufficient for approx. 8-10 m².

Strongly adhesive Velcro tape - for easy and fast installation of acoustic materials made from polyester (PES) non wovens. (Only for wall mounting)Our soni VELCRO tape is ideal for fastening acoustic elements such as soni ELEMENT, soni COMFORT, soni CIRCLE or soni HEXAGON. Cut the Velcro strip to the desired length and press the Velcro sidefirmly onto the non-wovenmaterial of the acoustic product. Then peel off theprotective filmand glue the element to the wall at the desired position. This fixingmethod allows you to remove or replace the acoustic element at any time if necessary. Recommended length of the Velcro tape: For a secure hold, cut the Velcro tape to approximately the width of the acoustic element.

soni COMFORT is a very hard-wearing sound absorber made of a white PES non-woven fabric with exceptionally good sound-absorption capacity. In addition, soni COMFORT offers excellent fire-resistance values. soni COMFORT has been tested successfully according to the DIN 4102 fire safety standard and is classified as fire-retardant (B1). Therefore it is the material of choice for all applications requiring both an effective noise reduction and full compliance with fire safety regulations. When used as a ceiling element, soni COMFORT also fulfills the impact-resistance requirements according to DIN 18032-3 and is ideally suited for use in sports facilities and gymnasiums. What is more, soni COMFORT is aging-resistant, free of mineral fibers and physiologically perfectly safe. All this makes soni COMFORT a true all-rounder for effective sound-conditioning measures in a wide variety of room types. For covering entire wall or ceiling surfaces we recommend using soni COMFORT F.
