The hearing range of a young healthy person covers frequencies from ca. 20 Hz up to ca. 20,000 Hz. Sounds with frequencies below and above this range are not perceived by the human ear, which is most attuned to frequencies between 500 and 6,000 Hz.
Hearing threshold
The hearing threshold is the lower limit of the sound pressure level that the human ear can perceive.
